NuScale Power is a company focused on advancing the nuclear power industry, and they are seeking a QA Project Engineer to support their projects. The role involves representing quality assurance in project planning and execution, ensuring that quality requirements are effectively communicated and adhered to throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Interact with project team and management from multiple companies to manage cross-functional quality interfaces
- Have a diverse understanding of quality requirements to be able to provide input and support on a wide spectrum of quality and process related solutions
- Support and coordinate as needed quality responses to customer Requests for Information and other marketing related activities
- Effective development of quality requirements traceability matrix and incorporation of said matrix into project activities as applicable, and appropriate
- Manage first-of-a-kind issues and adapt to a constantly shifting business development environment; interface as needed with planners and other personnel to ensure that quality activities for a given project are accurately represented and accounted for in work management plans
- Proactively identify and achieve resolution of project issues and anticipated challenges, including escalation of issues within the NuScale organization when necessary
- Provide direction and coordinate project related activities through quality leads, supervisors, and managers
- Develop and maintain processes and procedures needed for the efficient execution of quality project activities
- Support project risk assessment and risk mitigation activities
- Perform other duties as assigned
Skills
- Must have experience in the commercial nuclear industry with ASME NQA-1 / 10 CFR 50 Appendix B / 10 CFR 21
- A minimum of a Bachelor of Science in a technical field from an accredited college or university
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in quality assurance with a broad range of responsibilities
- Must be familiar with ASME NQA-1 / 10 CFR 50 Appendix B / 10 CFR 21
- Must have prior experience working as quality lead for large, complex projects
- Must have experience developing requirement traceability matrices
- Must demonstrate strong technical writing skills
- Must have good communication, computer, presentation and interpersonal skills
- Required to have exceptional organization skills and ability to manage complex projects with multiple work phases
- Prior commercial nuclear experience
- Knowledge of ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Section III, Division 1
- Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810
- Experience with ISO 9001 and other international quality standards and regulations
