Reporting to the Director for Business Development, the Temporary Grant Writer will support a combined public and private portfolio of 100+ annual proposal submissions and 50+ annual report submissions on average. The job requires well-developed written and verbal communications skills to exchange technical and complex information as well as best in class organization and strategic thinking. Work results impact the accuracy, reliability and acceptability of data used in the organization's grant seeking efforts. Work involves managing multiple priorities, making connections for efficiencies, planning and organizing to meet established deadlines. Write first and second drafts of grant proposals such as project descriptions, budget narratives, and organizational profiles. Edit private and public funding proposals. Draft letters of commitment, letters of support, letters of intent, and memorandums of understanding as needed. This is a part-time, paid temporary position (approximately 20 hours per week). Qualifications • Undergraduate degree in a relevant field with 4 years of fundraising experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. • Ability to work as a team member independently, with high level of self-motivation. • Strong organizational and time-management skills and attention to detail. • Proven ability to plan, meet deadlines, and efficiently manage multiple tasks and priorities under tight time constraints. • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams), and Adobe. • Confidence in ability to learn new software as necessary. • Experience with Salesforce preferred. • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. • Ability to communicate complex or technical ideas in ways that audiences of varying expertise are able to understand. • Ability to navigate and collaborate with a diverse workforce. • Deep commitment to Global Refuge's core values and ability to model those values in relationships with colleagues and partners. .
