You will manage and optimize the state’s Electronic Disease Surveillance System and associated back-end processing workflows.
Responsibilities
• Lead software and environment upgrades for Java, Tomcat, and associated middleware.
• Diagnose, isolate, and debug software problems to ensure maximum system uptime.
• Optimize SQL workflows, data denormalization, and persistence using Hibernate.
• Manage back-end processing for HL7, XML, ELRs, and CDA formats.
• Perform code reviews, manage releases, and maintain version control through Git or SVN.
• Develop and maintain system documentation, architecture diagrams, and project milestones.
Required Skills
• 5+ years of professional programming experience.
• Strong proficiency in Java.
• Advanced MS T-SQL, including stored procedures and query optimization.
• Experience with Apache Tomcat.
• Hands-on work with XML, XSD, and XSLT.
• Practical knowledge of Hibernate ORM.
• Experience with Source Code Management using SVN or Git.
• Proficiency in Configuration and Release Management.
• Experience using JIRA, Azure DevOps, or Remedy for tracking and remediation.
• Knowledge of HL7 (v2.3.1 - 2.5.1) standards.
Preferred Skills
• Experience with Conduent Maven or Lyniate Rhapsody software.
• Background in Public Health, Disease Surveillance Systems, or LIMS.
• Knowledge of LOINC, SNOMED, or Web Services (REST, SOAP).
