As a Solution Sales Specialist, Azure Developer Audience, you will play a critical role in driving business transformation through key technologies, specifically focusing on Azure Developer Services, GitHub/Azure DevOps, and Visual Studio.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Solution Sales Specialist to join our enterprise sales organization, focusing on Development workloads. As a technical sales professional, you will be responsible for building a compelling strategy for growing the Developer share within key accounts in both revenue and Azure consumption. You will engage in executive conversations, providing customers with insights and solutions leveraging the Microsoft Developer Platform and Developer Services offerings that drive business transformation.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership and Influence: Act as a key sales leader and influencer in shaping customer decisions to buy, build, and transform new markets, and lead transformational shifts in our customers.
- Strategic Vision: Lead and challenge customers with a clear strategic vision of Modern Engineering practices using the Microsoft and GitHub Platforms.
- Sales Opportunity Management: Orchestrate and lead Microsoft's field team to win Microsoft and GitHub development platform solution sales opportunities.
- Solution Development: Develop, communicate, and provide high business impact solutions that enable digital transformation.
- Account Management: Lead the sales opportunity team, disciplined in business-management, and build an active business network to meet and exceed sales targets and operational standards.
- Feedback and Insights: Influence Microsoft and GitHub go-to-market strategies by providing feedback to sales, marketing, and engineering on current and future product requirements and sales blockers.
Requirements and Qualifications
Essential Qualifications
- Experience: 3+ years technology-related sales or account management experience, or Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, or related field AND 2+ years technology-related sales or account management experience.
- Technical Background: 3+ years experience in one or more of the following:
- Application development platforms on public clouds and/or Azure in development languages (i.e., Java, JavaScript, Python, PHP, C#, Node.JS targeting Linux, Windows, public clouds, or Azure).
- DevOps practices, including continuous planning/Agile, CI/CD, quality, and security with DevOps toolchains (i.e., Azure DevOps, GitHub, GitLab, Atlassian).
- Integrated development environments (e.g., Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, Eclipse, XCode, WebSphere) targeting Linux, Windows, public clouds (i.e., Azure, AWS, Google).
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced Experience: 4+ years technology-related sales or account management experience, or Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, or related field AND 6+ years technology-related sales or account management experience, or Master's Degree in Business Administration (i.e., MBA), Information Technology, or related field AND 3+ years technology-related sales or account management experience.
- Prior Work Experience: Prior work experience in a Program Manager or Engagement Manager position focused on Cloud and software/services solution.
- Certifications: Certification in sales, sales management, complex sales training, sales methodologies, broad evangelism through events (presentation skills), and consultative selling.
- Executive Function:
- Account Management: Proven record of effective account management.
- Executive Presence: Leadership and confidence required to challenge customer status quo.
- Collaborative: Ability to orchestrate and influence virtual teams.
- Coaching: Training extended team in pipeline management, engagement management, and account planning.
- Trusted Advisor: Deep understanding of key competitive technologies and/or specific industries.
- Technical Function:
- Technical Passion: Passion for and experience working with the developer audience.
- Curiosity and Willingness to Learn: Continuously learn all aspects of the software development lifecycle.
- Understanding of Data & AI Technologies: Understanding of Data & AI technologies in context of app development.
- Knowledge of Competitive Landscape: Knowledge of the competitive landscape in cloud development platforms solutions.
What We Offer
At Microsoft, we offer a competitive salary, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for growth and development. The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $82,400 - $146,400 per year, with a different range applicable to specific work locations, such as the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area.
