Job DetailsPosition Type: Full TimeEducation Level: Graduate DegreeSalary Range: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 SalaryTravel Percentage: Road WarriorJob Shift: DayJob Category: Education POSITION TITLE   Senior Director of Member Relations –  U.S. West   DEPARTMENT   Member Relations   REPORTS TO   Vice President of Member Relations   FLSA STATUS    Exempt   LOCATION   Remote within the Western United States (CA excluded)  DATE   July 2026  POSITION SUMMARY  The Senior Director for Member Relations – U.S. West is responsible for the development and implementation of ISEP’s strategic plan for the designated regional portfolio of Partner Institutions, including recruitment of new institutions, building and maintaining strategic engagement with institutions, overseeing adherence to ISEP membership standards, and collaborating with the Program Development Team on new programs. This role will lead a regional team charged with deepening relations and driving growth in student participation via ongoing strategic engagement, market segmentation, program development, effective student recruitment initiatives, and exceptional service delivery.     While overseeing program management and services to students in the designated region, this role  works with their team and their international counterparts to improve these services and meet program demands of the study abroad market, creating greater access and diversity throughout the network. As the senior-level institutional liaison, the Director is responsible for ensuring the highest levels of program quality, delivery and customer satisfaction while also designing and overseeing initiatives around student enrollment targets, lead generation, and program participation.    This position partners across the organization to align strategic initiatives that support market positioning, enrollment growth, and the broader organizational mission. The role also includes a focus on initiatives that expand access and improve the experience of under-represented student populations.    The ideal candidate is an experienced international education professional who is relationship-oriented, growth-driven, collaborative, adaptable, and passionate about expanding access to global learning opportunities. They demonstrate sound judgment, strategic thinking, and an understanding of how to balance organizational mission with business objectives.    PRINCIPAL RELATIONSHIPS  External  Senior International Officers and Directors at Partner Institutions  ISEP Coordinators at Partner Institutions   International education professionals, faculty, student services staff, and other campus stakeholders at current partners and prospective institutions   Internal  Member Relations  Office of the President   Student Services   Affiliate Engagement   Marketing & Communications   Program Development   Finance  Business Operations    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES  In collaboration with Senior Director of Member Relations – U.S. East, develop and coordinate the annual U.S. Member Relations regional engagement and outreach strategy in alignment with ISEP’s organizational strategic plan.  Lead and supervise a team, including an Assistant Director and University Relations Manager to deepen existing partnerships and drive enrollment growth.  Manage key university partners within the designated region and drive strategic engagement with senior university personnel; assign other university partners to team members based on the highest Return on Investment (ROI).  Cultivate strategic working relationships with stakeholders at key institutions in order to maximize student participation in ISEP programs – including Senior International Officers, ISEP coordinators, faculty, and others.  Establish enrollment KPIs and report quarterly to ISEP Executive Team on progress towards meeting established targets on Exchange, Direct, and InFocus programs.   Lead strategic initiatives assigned by Vice President for Member Relations, including Community College, Indigenous, and Hispanic-Serving Institutional recruitment and engagement.   Lead the annual student recruitment strategy while maximizing regional engagement and travel budget, allocating resources to institutions and activities that generate the highest ROI.  Identify and recruit new institutions, evaluate prospective partner applications, make recommendations regarding admission, and coordinate the onboarding and training of new institutions to support growth and retention goals.  Enhance program delivery through academically focused initiatives: curriculum integration, faculty engagement, special projects, etc.  Mentor Assistant Director in monitoring institutions’ adherence to membership standards, identifying program concerns, and proposing solutions.  Participate in health and safety protocols in coordination with ISEP stakeholders; collaborate in crisis communication and response; conduct risk assessments for designated regions.  Coordinate with other Directors of Member Relations on special projects as assigned.    OTHER RECURRING DUTIES   Prepare information for reports and presentations to ISEP leadership and governance (Board of Directors, Council of Advisors).  Conduct site visits to potential, new and current partner institutions.  Qualify leads, monitor membership application process, ensuring protocol is followed, and track partner enrollments through Salesforce; provide quarterly reports on membership information.  Participate in international education conferences and events, as assigned.  Participate in emergency phone rotation, which may require occasional evening, weekend, or holiday availability.  Lead special projects, address departmental priorities, and follow through on other duties as assigned.    TRAVEL  This position requires regular travel to current partner and prospective institutions, conferences, and professional events to support institutional engagement and student recruitment efforts. Travel may increase during peak recruitment and conference seasons and can constitute up to 70% of work time during certain periods.QualificationsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS  Master’s degree in relevant field of study.  15+years of progressive leadership experience in international education, study abroad, international programs management, or related areas.  Travel, study and/or work experience abroad.  Knowledge and experience working with higher education institutions in the United States.  Proven track record in student recruitment and enrollment growth.  Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation skills.  Project management experience and strong organizational skills.  Demonstrated ability to analyze and use metrics to inform strategic decision making, financial acumen and experience making recommendations on program offerings to meet revenue targets.  Familiarity with Salesforce, Asana, or similar CRM and project management platforms.  Ability to develop and manage budgets.  Foreign language proficiency is desired.
