Responsibilities
- Design and build backend services in Node.js or Python that stay fast and dependable as usage grows
- Ship AI-powered product features, from prototype through to something users actually rely on
- Use AI coding tools day to day to speed up development without letting quality slip
- Model and query data in Postgres or MySQL, and keep those queries honest as the schema evolves
- Contribute across the stack, including front-end work when a feature needs it
- Weigh in on architecture and technical direction as the product and team scale
- Review code, mentor teammates, and raise the bar for how the team ships
Skills
- 7+ years building software in production environments
- Several years of depth in Node.js or Python on the backend
- Strong with relational databases, particularly Postgres or MySQL
- Hands-on experience building AI products, and using AI to build them
- US-based and able to work remotely
- Front-end experience is a real plus, and comfort jumping into it when needed matters
- A bonus if you're in or near Knoxville, TN
