Muller Engineering Company is seeking to strengthen its Water/Wastewater Utilities staff at the project manager level with an individual experienced in managing and delivering projects involving water and wastewater master planning studies, capital improvements plans, and facility assessments. The role involves overseeing project design and analysis, managing teams, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality projects for public sector clients in Colorado.
Responsibilities
- Oversee design and analysis on a wide variety of water and wastewater projects, including providing technical vision, problem-solving expertise, and innovative solutions that meet and exceed client expectations
- Oversee hydraulic water and wastewater modeling efforts, transient analyses, capital improvements programming and master planning studies
- Manage the design of water/wastewater improvements such as water transmission and distribution lines, shallow and deep well facilities, meter and valve vaults, pumps and pumping facilities, wastewater collection pipelines, sewage lift stations, and irrigation ditch diversion facilities and measurement structures
- Manage and oversee the delivery of construction drawings, project specifications, and technical report writing
- Prepare detailed project work scopes, fee estimates, and schedules
- Mentor, guide and manage teams of project and design engineers to deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget
- Other project management duties such as workload planning and management, invoicing, project progress reporting, etc
- Champion business development and marketing efforts, resulting in the acquisition of new projects
- Nurture long-term client relationships resulting in repeat sole-source work
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited college or university
- 10+ years of combined planning, design and project management experience on water and wastewater projects
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented professional with strong organizational skills
- A desire to grow personally and professionally with each project while working in a team environment to create deliverables that support our client's overall project goals
- Active Colorado Professional Engineer license or ability to transfer a license from another state within 6 months of hire
- Master's degree is a plus
- Knowledge and familiarity with industry related software (Aquanuity, EPANet, WaterCAD, SewerCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microstation) and other applicable software common to the field of water/wastewater engineering
