Herzog Contracting Corp. is currently seeking self-motivated, safety and success-orientated Project Managers in the United States to join our team. The role involves leading project teams, managing correspondence and project status updates, and ensuring that project activities meet quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead representative for the Company on the project
- Responsible for all correspondence and project status updates for management, clients and project team
- Leads, hires, trains and manages performance of project staff to ensure that assigned duties and responsibilities are performed in accordance with the Company’s core values and Contract Requirements
- Works with project staff to solve any problems that may arise during project execution; takes appropriate action to mitigate impacts resulting from changes in conditions
- Monitor costs, estimates and budget of the project
- Develop project schedules, work plans, staffing requirements and allotment of available resources to various phases of the project
- Ensures that project activities, quality, productivity, and safety standards meet or exceed Company guidelines, Contract Requirements, and government regulations
- Leads meetings with project staff, clients, third party stakeholders and JV partners to communicate information related to project requirements
- Regular and consistent engagement, participation and promotion of Herzog’s Culture and its essential behaviors are a requirement for this position
- Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality are a requirement for this position

Skills
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related equivalent; or equivalent Field experience
- A minimum of 8 years of rail construction and maintenance management experience
- Thorough knowledge of construction industry practices, methods, processes, and standards and their impact on project activities
- Demonstrates a working knowledge of advanced project accounting, project controls (cost, schedule, change management, etc.), material management, contract management, subcontract management, safety, and quality
- Exhibits strong leadership skills and has the ability to build a team and motivate employees
- Track record of successfully executing projects on schedule and within budget
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Strong client relationships, influencing and organizational skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office required; proficiency with Procore and other construction computer programs a plus
- Subject to pre-employment background check and motor vehicle report review
- Maintain a valid driver's license and endorsements as required per position
- Subject to pre-employment physical, medical evaluation, and drug screen due to the safety sensitive nature of this position
- Successfully complete and maintain any required safety certification and testing on an annual basis
- Perform light work, occasionally exerting up to 20 pounds of force
- Able to walk on uneven surfaces
- Occasionally ascend/descend step ladders and/or stairs
- Regularly sit and stand for an extended period of time
- Regularly kneel, bend, and squat
- Must successfully pass color/vision examinations as required by the position
- Must be able to hear and distinguish auditory signals as required by the position
- Able to work in conditions with loud noise; work on/around heavy/moving machinery
- Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow, and sleet)
