Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. The Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD) is Ohio's third-largest public school system, serving more than 35,000 students. They are seeking a Program Manager for English Language Arts (ELA) (9-12) to support school leaders and teachers in planning, monitoring, and implementing all English Language Arts programming through a deep understanding of the 9-12 Ohio Learning Standards.
Responsibilities
- Provides direction and leadership in the development of the English Language Arts curriculum for grades 9-12 and collaborates with the other English Language Arts Managers in K-8
- Promotes effective instructional practices and communication that support high levels of instruction through the research-based, data-driven best practices, effective classroom consultation, and program evaluation
- Assists in reviewing and evaluating results of District-wide assessment programs and recommends appropriate modifications to the English Language Arts curriculum
- Monitors district data to determine trends and, in turn, develop and implement the most effective strategies for meeting and exceeding district and state achievement goals
- Leads a process for the evaluation, selection, and acquisition of instructional materials, supplies, equipment, and textbooks to support the English Language Arts curriculum
- Assists administrators and teachers in improving English Language Arts instruction
- Assists in the planning and development of District and school-wide professional development for teachers to assist in raising the level of instructional performance and student achievement in English Language Arts
- Coordinates professional development for High School English Language Arts teachers and collaborates with the English Language Arts Managers in K-8
- Represents the District or the Curriculum Department on selected committees and/or at selected meetings
- Establishes and maintains cooperative relationships with parents and the community to support District goals
- Provide curricular support for English Language Arts education in all schools
- Contract with necessary departments and partners to provide support for large-scale events
- Analyze program assessment and evaluation results
- Work with building principals and English Language Arts educators to ensure that all interested schools have access to programming
Skills
- Bachelor's degree required or an equivalent combination of lesser education
- Excellent customer service, management, and analytical skills
- Demonstrated computer experience, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Excellent oral and written communication, human relations, and technology skills
