[Remote] Principal Engineering Designer - Water

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Principal Engineering Designer – Water to join our Water Team in Indianapolis, IN or in a remote capacity. In this senior-level role, you will lead the design and production of complex water, wastewater, and sewer infrastructure deliverables while mentoring designers and partnering with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the research, preparation, and production of water/wastewater infrastructure design drawings using tools such as REVIT, MicroStation, AutoCAD, and related design software
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and multidisciplinary teams to develop integrated solutions across various water/wastewater projects such as treatment facilities, conveyance systems, and pump stations
• Provide technical oversight and mentorship to junior designers on project drawing production, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to standards across all deliverables
• Examine complex contract documents and drawings for errors, revising as needed to align with contract specifications
• Contribute to the development of technical reports, material costs, construction estimations, and production schedules for water/wastewater infrastructure projects
• Conduct project review meetings and prepare project 'As-Builts' documentation

Skills

• Associate's Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Engineering Science, or related technical field required
• Minimum of 12 years of experience in document production within the engineering discipline required
• Proficiency in discipline-based software (REVIT, AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a collaborative work ethic
• Expert working knowledge of engineering discipline with strong expertise in design drawing layout
• Strong problem-solving capabilities with demonstrated technical proficiency
