[Remote] OpenEdge Database Administrator

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Skysoft Inc. is seeking a Senior OpenEdge Database Administrator to manage and optimize their database environments. This role is crucial for ensuring the availability and security of their business software applications.

Responsibilities

• Manages, optimizes, and maintains enterprise-grade Progress OpenEdge object-relational database environments
• Ensures high availability, security, and scalability for mission-critical business software applications

Skills

• 10+ years of experience as a Progress OpenEdge Database Administrator (DBA)
• Advanced knowledge of Progress OpenEdge RDBMS architecture (Versions 11 and 12/13)
• Deep experience implementing and tuning PASOE (Progress Application Server for OpenEdge) and classic AppServers
• Fluent system administration across Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Unix, and Windows environments
• Mastery of Linux Bash shell scripting or Windows CLI/Batch tools for automated routines
• Configuration of OpenEdge SQL92, Data Servers, Tomcat web servers, and ODBC/JDBC frameworks
• High-level understanding of Progress 4GL / ABL (Advanced Business Language)
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or equivalent real-world technical training
• Typically requires 3–5+ years of dedicated database administration experience, with enterprise-level roles seeking 10+ years
• Problem-solving under pressure
