Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. VetsEZ is looking for a Full Stack Developer Intern for a 100% remote position on a federal government project. This internship provides hands-on experience in software development practices and AI-assisted development while working alongside experienced engineers in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, code, test, and debug applications using modern programming practices
- Collaborate with senior developers and technical teams to support software development initiatives
- Learn and apply tools and technologies, including AI tools, Git, version control, JSON, and testing tools
- Assist in maintaining code documentation and version control processes
- Support Agile development practices and participate in sprint planning and reviews
- Engage in problem-solving and troubleshooting for development challenges
- Contribute to team objectives and take on additional responsibilities as needed
Skills
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Academic or project-based experience in software development, object-oriented programming, or web development
- Proficiency in object-oriented programming languages such as Java or Python
- Basic experience with RESTful APIs and/or SQL (all three preferred)
- Understanding of AI tools used to accelerate coding, testing, and CI/CD processes
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
- Knowledge of version control concepts and software development lifecycle practices
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Effective communication and ability to collaborate within cross-functional teams
- Ability to work in a multi-stakeholder, Agile, and DevSecOps environment
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new tools and technologies
- Exposure to Git and version control tools
- Experience with JSON and API testing tools such as Postman or Swagger
- Familiarity with Jira or other Agile project management tools
- Must be able to obtain a Federal Government clearance (VetsEZ will assist in this process)
