Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. UPS is a Fortune Global 500 organization seeking a Finance & Accounting Special Projects Manager. The role involves managing accounting processes related to mergers and acquisitions, performing complex financial analysis, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and SEC requirements.
Responsibilities
- Manages project plan to ensure completion of all required tasks and addresses project risk appropriately
- Prepares and reviews updates to the company’s internal accounting policies and procedures manual, to ensure that accounting personnel in other parts of the company have access to current UPS accounting policies
- Works cross-functionally throughout M&A life cycle to ensure financial statement accuracy
- Provides updates to senior management for project status and accounting impacts associated with M&A transactions
- Identifies and prepares US GAAP required accounting documentation, entries, and SEC disclosures as a result of M&A transaction activity
- Collaborates cross-functionally, globally, flexibly, in a hybrid three day/week office environment. Coordinate live and virtual meetings and working rhythms to drive project results
- Provides supporting documentation and other materials to the external auditors in conjunction with the completion of their required audits
Skills
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or National of the U.S., an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. for this employer
- Bachelor's Degree (or internationally comparable degree) – Accounting, Finance
- Master's Degree (or internationally comparable degree) – Business Administration, Accounting
- Experience with SEC filing and reporting
- Experience with data analysis and project management tools
- Experience working in a Public Accounting Firm
- Experience with acquisition and divestiture accounting
