The Senior Accountant will support the month-end close process, maintain the integrity of the general ledger, and ensure accurate accounting for equity-related transactions.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review journal entries and account reconciliations
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities for assigned areas
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of the general ledger
- Analyze account fluctuations and investigate variances
- Prepare supporting schedules for financial reporting
- Assist with annual audits and other compliance requirements
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls
- Prepare accounting entries related to stock-based compensation under ASC 718
- Account for equity transactions including stock options, RSUs and ESPP
- Prepare equity roll-forward schedules and supporting documentation
- Assist with quarterly and annual financial statement disclosures related to equity compensation
- Support external valuation specialists and auditors during reporting cycles
- Assist with administration of the company's equity plans and equity management platform
- Coordinate with Legal, HR, Payroll, and external service providers
- Maintain equity award records and employee transactions
- Support employee equity inquiries
- Participate in special projects, acquisitions, and system/process improvements
- Research technical accounting matters as needed
- Support cross-functional initiatives across Finance, Payroll, HR, and Legal
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA designation (or actively pursuing CPA) preferred
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Public accounting experience is preferred
- Strong experience with: General ledger accounting, Month-end close, Account reconciliations, Financial reporting
- Experience accounting for stock-based compensation and equity transactions
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP (IFRS knowledge is an asset)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience with equity administration platforms such as Morgan Stanley ETRADE, or similar
- Experience working in a publicly traded or private equity-backed company
- Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite
- Strong public accounting experience
