Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. StraussGroup is a family-owned retail and wholesale energy supplier seeking an Energy Analyst to join their growing team. The role involves analyzing energy market data and client interactions, with opportunities for growth into client relationship management.
Responsibilities
- Analyze energy market data, pricing, and usage trends across natural gas and electricity
- Onboard and review utility data, invoices, and interval data for issues and exceptions
- Build models, data visualizations, and client-facing dashboards, including with AI tools
- Support procurement, RFPs, and supply strategy decisions
- Join client calls to communicate findings and recommend next steps
- Own recurring client reporting and budgeting deliverables
- Partner with senior consultants and grow into managing client relationships
Skills
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with sharp attention to detail
- Comfort working directly with clients in a consultative capacity
- Bachelor's degree, ideally in economics or finance
- Junior but not entry-level, a couple of years of relevant experience
- Experience using AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Lovable, or similar) to develop models, visualizations, and dashboards is a strong plus
- Background in energy consulting, energy management, or commercial and industrial procurement is preferred
- Familiarity with utility/ISO data (NYISO, PJM, MISO) and demand response is a plus
