Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Badlands Contracting, LLC is seeking a Mechanical CAD Designer to work with their Engineering staff. The role involves providing designs, plans, project layouts, and contract documents while assisting in the development of drawings and sketches required to complete project designs.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and redlines
- Create and modify 3D models using AutoCAD based software
- Prepare various technical drawings, such as layouts, plans, detail drawings, fabrication and assembly drawings such as isometrics, and summarized reports
- Update and revise existing drawings as required and correct 'as-built' drawings
- Maintain accurate design and drawing archives and revision histories
- Provide direct support to the execution team regarding drafting-related questions
Skills
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Communicate effectively while working in a team environment
- Compute basic calculations
- A.S. degree or professional training in drafting and design, engineering, or related field or equivalent experience
- Basic understanding of AutoCAD required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Onsite support and travel are required occasionally
- Experience in the oil and gas industry preferred but not required
- Drafting experience in AutoCAD Plant 3D preferred but not required
