Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. 10EQS is a global consulting firm that helps clients accelerate decision-making through expert insights, market intelligence, and strategy execution. They are seeking a Business Development Manager focused on the private equity segment to drive growth by building relationships with deal teams and converting them into ongoing engagements.
Responsibilities
- Build and run targeted outbound campaigns against mid-market private equity firms and named accounts, focused on deal teams, value-creation / operating partners, and portfolio company leadership
- Qualify inbound and partner-sourced leads and convert them into discovery conversations
- Maintain a healthy, well-tracked pipeline with disciplined CRM hygiene and accurate forecasting, accounting for the fast, event-driven timing of PE deal cycles
- Lead first calls with prospects to understand their investment theses, diligence needs, and portfolio priorities, and shape potential engagements
- Partner with senior leadership and subject matter experts to scope commercial due diligence, market scouting, and value-creation projects and develop compelling, competitively priced proposals
- Drive proposal turnaround with the quality and speed diligence timelines demand; manage the full follow-up cadence through to close
- Own the relationship with PE prospects from first touch through signed engagement
- Convert individual deal-driven projects into standing, repeat-business relationships across a firm's fund and portfolio
- Identify follow-on and expansion opportunities — from pre-deal diligence to post-close value creation — within existing accounts
- Represent 10EQS professionally in client conversations, on calls, and at industry and PE community events
- Help refine messaging, ICP definition, and qualification criteria for the PE segment based on what you see in the market
- Bring market intelligence back into the business to sharpen our diligence and value-creation offerings and positioning
- Contribute to a culture of pragmatic, data-driven commercial decision-making
Skills
- 4–7 years in B2B business development, sales, or client development — ideally serving private equity, or within management consulting, market intelligence, expert networks, market research, or a diligence-focused advisory environment
- Familiarity with the private equity landscape and the buying dynamics of mid-market funds: cost-conscious, deal-driven, and reliant on fast, high-quality external inputs
- Demonstrated track record of personally generating pipeline and closing or contributing materially to deals
- Comfort engaging mid- to senior-level PE professionals — deal partners, principals, value-creation / operating partners, and portfolio company executives
- Exposure to commercial due diligence, market entry/scouting, or value-creation work is a strong plus
