Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Cleveland-Cliffs is the largest flat-rolled steel company and the largest iron ore pellet producer in North America. They are looking for an Accountant to participate in monthly close activities, including preparing journal entries and supporting the Payroll Department by approving timecards and generating reports.
Responsibilities
- Perform assigned month-end accounting activities, including journal entries, reporting, and account reconciliations
- Provide information and support for annual external audit
- Track vessel and train shipments, communicate with shipping dock, and manage related payments
- Perform weekly timekeeping duties and provide bi-weekly reports to Payroll
- Calculate monthly accruals for royalties and compile quarterly payment requests
- Cross train with Section Manager Accounting to provide backup for daily/weekly tasks
- Assist with ad-hoc reporting and special projects as requested
- Other duties as assigned
