Job description: Project Manager Capital Equipment (Food Processing & Packaging Equipment)Location: On-site, Hayward, CAEmployment type: Full-time, permanentAbout the Role: We are hiring an experienced Project Manager to lead capital equipment projects in the food processing and packaging industry.This is an onsite role in Hayward, CA, ideal for local candidates with a mechanical or industrial engineering background and at least 5 years of industry experience. The successful candidate will manage projects from purchase order through installation, including scheduling, vendor coordination, and client communication.Responsibilities:

• Review customer purchase orders, project cost estimates, and performance guarantees
• Identify and resolve commercial and technical issues in coordination with Sales
• Establish and manage project timelines using SAP and MS Project
• Source specialised equipment and controls; manage vendor relationships and pricing
• Monitor mechanical/electrical engineering progress and equipment testing milestones
• Provide weekly updates during internal project meetings
• Track project costs and conduct project close-out reviews
• Support field service and installation; coordinate with customers on-site if needed
• Address and resolve punch-list and warranty-related issues

MUST HAVE Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering
• Minimum 5 years of experience in food industry projects
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel), MS Project, SAP, CRM, and AutoCAD viewer
• Ability to read and interpret assembly, system layout, and electrical drawings
• Willing to travel up to 25%

Nice-To-Have Experience:

• Experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams (mechanical, electrical, controls).
• Familiarity with FDA/USDA or other food-industry regulatory requirements.
• Lean or Six Sigma certification.
