Position Summary: The Project Controls Manager is responsible for leading all project controls functions across utility-scale renewable energy construction projects, including cost control, progress measurement, forecasting, earned value management, scheduling coordination, and performance reporting. This role provides direct leadership and oversight to Project Controls Specialists and is responsible for developing, mentoring, and driving consistency across the project controls team. Partnering closely with Project Managers, Construction Managers, Schedulers, Procurement, and Executive Leadership, the Project Controls Manager provides accurate financial and operational visibility throughout the project lifecycle. This position drives standardization of project controls processes, ensures timely reporting of project performance, risks, trends, and forecasted outcomes, and supports successful project execution and financial performance. Key Responsibilities: • Lead project controls activities across utility-scale renewable energy projects, including cost control, progress tracking, forecasting, earned value management, and performance reporting. • Oversee project budgets, ETCs, cash flow forecasts, change management, subcontractor cost tracking, and financial reporting to ensure accurate project forecasting and cost visibility. • Partner with Project Managers, Construction Managers, Schedulers, Procurement, and Site Leadership to monitor project performance, identify risks, and implement corrective actions. • Direct progress measurement and productivity tracking processes, including labor, equipment, quantities installed, earned progress, and schedule performance metrics. • Support monthly forecasting, client billing, executive reporting, KPI development, and project closeout reporting while maintaining accurate project controls documentation. • Manage and mentor Project Controls personnel, drive process standardization across projects, and promote consistent reporting, accountability, and best practices throughout the organization. Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Finance, Project Management, or related field; equivalent experience considered. • 8+ years of project controls, cost controls, project controls management, or related experience supporting large-scale construction, industrial, power, or renewable energy projects. • Strong understanding of project budgeting, forecasting, earned value management (EVM), schedule integration, productivity tracking, and change management processes. • Experience working with project schedules and scheduling software such as Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project. • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with experience developing reports, dashboards, tracking tools, and financial models. • Demonstrated leadership experience managing project controls teams and supporting multiple projects simultaneously. • Utility-scale solar, renewable energy, EPC, industrial, or heavy civil construction experience strongly preferred.
