Job Description: We are seeking a Part-Time Payroll & Benefits Administrator to oversee complex multi-state payroll operations while helping improve payroll processes, compliance practices, and overall payroll efficiency. This individual will manage biweekly payroll for approximately 90 hourly and salaried employees working across multiple states and jurisdictions. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with certified payroll, prevailing wage requirements, multi-state payroll administration, and wage and hour compliance. Work Environment: Fully remote opportunity Part-time schedule averaging approximately 30 hours per week Benefits eligible Collaborative environment working closely with Payroll, HR, Finance, and Operations Opportunity to participate in payroll system enhancements and future timekeeping implementation projects Preference for candidates located in states where the company currently operates Why You Should Be Interested: Competitive compensation and full benefits package Fully remote work environment Opportunity to play a key role in improving and modernizing payroll operations Ability to influence payroll strategy, compliance, and process improvements Significant autonomy to recommend and implement best practices Opportunity to support a future payroll/timekeeping system implementation Responsibilities: Process biweekly payroll for approximately 90 employees using ADP Workforce Now Manage multi-state payroll administration and compliance requirements Administer certified payroll reporting and prevailing wage compliance Support employee benefit enrollments and payroll deductions Coordinate new hire payroll setup and onboarding activities Maintain payroll records and compliance documentation Generate payroll reporting for Finance, Safety, HR, and leadership teams Assist with workers' compensation reporting and documentation Identify payroll inefficiencies and recommend process improvements Support future payroll and timekeeping system implementation initiatives Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour regulations Qualifications: Required: 5+ years of payroll administration experience Experience processing complex multi-state payroll Certified payroll experience Prevailing wage experience Strong understanding of federal and state wage and hour laws Ability to independently process payroll with a high degree of accuracy Strong payroll compliance knowledge Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills Experience with ADP Workforce Now or similar payroll systems preferred Preferred: Benefits administration experience Payroll system implementation experience Construction or project-based payroll experience Union payroll experience Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification Experience improving payroll processes and implementing best practices Ability to train or mentor others on certified payroll requirements Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Centennial, CO. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
