Company: Pro-Vac Industry: Environmental Services Level: Full Time Job Family: Experienced Location: Remote Compensation: $85,000-$100,000 annually (DOE) OVERVIEW Position Summary You'll serve as the technical expert for our payroll department, helping ensure more than just accurate payroll processing. You'll play a key role in multi-state payroll administration, certified payroll, prevailing wage compliance, union payroll, payroll audits, and continuous process improvement. Working alongside Payroll, HR, Finance, and Operations, you'll help deliver timely, compliant payroll while supporting one of the fastest-growing industrial service companies in the country. RESPONSIBILITIES Accounting Leading weekly payroll processing across multiple companies and states. Managing certified payroll and prevailing wage reporting. Administering union payroll, fringe benefit reporting, and remittances. Reviewing payroll audits and resolving discrepancies before payroll is finalized. Supporting payroll compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Support Mentoring Payroll Specialists and serving as a technical resource. Supporting the Payroll Manager and providing backup leadership when needed. Payroll Serving as the Paylocity subject matter expert. Troubleshooting payroll issues and improving payroll processes. Partnering with HR, Finance, and Operations to ensure payroll accuracy. REQUIREMENTS Experience 5+ years of multi-state payroll experience. Experience processing payroll across multiple legal entities. Experience with prevailing wage compliance. Experience administering union payroll and fringe benefit reporting. Experience using Paylocity or a comparable payroll/HRIS platform. Skills Strong knowledge of certified payroll administration. Strong payroll auditing and reconciliation skills. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Strong understanding of federal, state, and local payroll regulations. Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. Preferred CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) or FPC certification. Associate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Human Resources, or related field. Experience in construction, industrial services, utilities, or other highly regulated industries. Experience with labor compliance reporting and government-funded projects. ? Physical Requirements The ideal candidate must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. This role requires prolonged sitting while working at a computer, frequent keyboard use, occasional standing and walking, and the ability to review detailed payroll records and financial reports with a high degree of accuracy. Regular communication via phone, video conference, email, and Microsoft Teams is required.
