Night Legal Assistant (Litigation Support)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 4:00 PM – 12:30 AM
Work Arrangement: Remote in California
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Night Legal Assistant to provide after-hours litigation support to attorneys and legal teams. This role will serve as a versatile "floater," assisting with overflow work across multiple practice groups and ensuring critical deadlines are met. The ideal candidate has extensive litigation experience, exceptional organizational skills, and a strong background in both State and Federal court filings.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide comprehensive litigation support to attorneys during evening hours.
• Prepare, revise, proofread, and finalize legal documents, pleadings, correspondence, and discovery materials.
• Perform and manage State and Federal court filings, ensuring compliance with court rules and filing deadlines.
• Assist with overflow work and support multiple attorneys and practice groups as needed.
• Coordinate and track case deadlines, court dates, and filing requirements.
• Maintain and organize electronic and physical case files.
• Conduct document management and administrative support utilizing the firm's systems and procedures.
• Collaborate with legal assistants, paralegals, and attorneys to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of assignments.
• Handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
Qualifications
• 5+ years of litigation legal assistant experience in a law firm environment.
• Demonstrated expertise with State and Federal e-filing systems.
• Strong knowledge of litigation procedures, court rules, and legal terminology.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Exceptional attention to detail and strong proofreading skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PDF software.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience supporting multiple attorneys in a fast-paced litigation practice.
• Prior experience in a floater, shared-services, or overflow support role.
• Familiarity with document management systems and litigation support technology.
