About the Role Our client, a prominent player in the Detroit, Michigan arts and entertainment sector, is seeking an experienced and inspiring Lead Digital Artist & Animator . This hybrid role requires a blend of artistic leadership and hands-on creation, focusing on developing high-quality visual assets and animations for a range of projects. You will guide a team of talented artists, ensuring visual consistency and artistic excellence across all deliverables. The ideal candidate is a master of digital art and animation, with a proven ability to manage projects and mentor junior team members. Key Responsibilities Lead the artistic direction and execution of digital art and animation for various projects, including games, film, marketing, and interactive installations. Create high-quality 2D and 3D assets, characters, environments, and visual effects. Develop compelling animations, motion graphics, and visual storytelling elements. Oversee the work of junior artists and animators, providing constructive feedback and ensuring adherence to artistic style and quality standards. Collaborate with directors, producers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and deliver visually stunning results. Manage project timelines and asset pipelines, ensuring efficient workflow and timely delivery. Stay updated on the latest trends and technologies in digital art and animation software and techniques. Maintain a strong understanding of art fundamentals, including composition, color theory, and anatomy. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Animation, Digital Media, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. Minimum of 8 years of experience in digital art and animation, with a strong portfolio showcasing exceptional artistic skills and leadership. Proficiency in industry-standard software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, After Effects), Maya, Blender, 3ds Max, or similar 3D modeling and animation tools. Proven experience leading and mentoring a team of artists. Excellent understanding of animation principles, character rigging, and motion graphics. Strong grasp of visual storytelling and composition. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced studio environment. Excellent communication and organizational skills.
