This is a remote position. Job Summary Seeking an experienced Information Services Consultant to support the development, modernization, and implementation of enterprise records classification structures and retention schedules. The role requires expertise in information governance, records management, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder collaboration. The consultant will work with business, legal, privacy, audit, risk, and IT teams to establish practical and compliant recordkeeping practices across the organization. Key Responsibilities Develop and modernize records classification structures and retention schedules. Analyze business processes to identify records, retention triggers, and recordkeeping requirements. Collaborate with business, Legal, Privacy, Audit, Risk, and IT stakeholders. Translate legislative, regulatory, and policy requirements into business rules. Design and maintain classification taxonomies and metadata standards. Identify recordkeeping risks and recommend mitigation strategies. Prepare retention rationales, classification models, procedures, guidance documents, and decision logs. Support records governance initiatives in digital and hybrid environments. Identify official records, transitory records, and duplicate information. Assist with records modernization, digital transformation, and implementation activities. Support migration from legacy recordkeeping practices to structured digital controls. Recommend improvements to information lifecycle management practices. Required Experience Experience developing and maintaining records classification structures and retention schedules. Experience in Information Governance, Records Management, Compliance, or Privacy. Experience analyzing business processes and identifying records lifecycle requirements. Experience working with cross-functional teams including Legal, Privacy, Audit, Risk, Business, and IT. Experience interpreting legislation, regulations, and organizational policies. Experience working in regulated industries such as Financial Services, Crown Corporations, Public Sector, or similar. Experience producing governance documentation and retention rationales.
