Job Summary
As a Business Analyst, you will be responsible for analyzing data, identifying trends, and providing actionable insights to optimize our paid media spend. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement data-driven solutions that drive business results. Your primary focus will be on streamlining our paid media spend globally and identifying opportunities to improve marketing efficiencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain reporting and analyses to inform and drive business decisions related to paid media
- Work with marketing teams to identify ways to improve the efficiencies of our paid media spend
- Design and lead the development of analytics, business intelligence, and data science solutions to enhance paid media and improve marketing efficiencies
- Collaborate with paid media, data science, and marketing teams to implement media mix models
- Conduct ad-hoc analyses through database querying, followed by insightful interpretation of results and communication of recommendations that drive action
- Partner with stakeholders to leverage data (internal data from Amazon and external data from market research and advertising agencies) to address complex business challenges
- Influence and utilize tools such as SQL, MicroStrategy, Tableau, Excel, and other reporting tools to create and maintain scheduled and ad-hoc reports
- Analyze data to identify business issues and lead deep dives to perform root cause analysis
- Conceptualize and run analyses that produce insights on customer behavior and customer needs to inform product development and improvement
Essential Qualifications
- Experience in Business Intelligence, Analytics, or Consulting in an online business environment or related field
- Advanced SQL experience
- Proficiency in at least one industry-standard analytics and data visualization tool (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, QuickSight)
- Expert-level skills in Excel with a proven track record
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Business, Economics, Information Technology, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a team of highly engaged individuals
- Passion for numbers, data, and statistics, as well as delivering high-quality analysis
- Strong inclination for action, highly organized, and ability to complete tasks and projects with minimal direction and tight deadlines
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both business leaders and technical teams
- Experience with subscription-based or media content organizations
- Familiarity with or interest in learning more about state-of-the-art data science approaches
- Programming languages: knowledge of Python, Java, C#, R, or SAS
- Familiarity with Adobe Analytics
