Job Description: • Lead Editorial Across Manufacturing, Electronic & Automation. • Define the editorial strategy for GlobalSpec's key channels and creative output, with direct oversight of editors covering key domains and support staff. • Elevate editorial standards - for yourself, for the team, for the brand. • Create featured content, reports, and multimedia for an industrial audience, serving as the brand's expert and ambassador. • Manage annual editorial calendars across topics, formats, and audiences, while consulting key stakeholders such as sales and marketing teams. • Ideate, commission, and approve content across channels: newsletters, feature articles, video scripts, podcast treatments, webinars, event coverage, and custom programs. • Serve as editor of record for the brand's highest-visibility content. • Recruit, mentor, and develop a team of editors, contributors, and subject matter experts. • Develop distinct editorial franchises, such as recurring series or signature offerings, that drive readers to re-engage and share with colleagues. • Launch and manage an industry advisory board of engineers and technical leaders who contribute expertise, validate editorial direction, and amplify the brand. • Conduct research to understand reader needs, validate editorial direction, and equip the sales team with credible data on audience intent. • Ensure all content is grounded in human expertise -original reporting, proprietary insight, and real-world perspectives that algorithms cannot replicate. Requirements: • 15+ years of progressive editorial experience in B2B media, trade publishing, or a closely adjacent content-driven field. • At least 5 years in an editorial leadership or management role, ideally overseeing multiple brands, verticals, or a large content team. • Deep knowledge of the industrial manufacturing space — electronics, automation, or adjacent engineering disciplines. • A genuine editorial point of view — opinions about what makes a story worth telling, what makes content worth reading, and what makes a brand worth following. • Proven experience building audience through editorial quality, not just SEO tactics. • Experience with custom content, branded content, or content studio operations: setting standards, working with clients, and protecting editorial integrity while supporting commercial goals. • A track record of developing editorial talent — you make editors better. • Comfort in commercial settings: you can walk into a client conversation, represent the editorial product credibly, and contribute to a sale without becoming a salesperson. • Data literacy: you use audience metrics, engagement signals, and content performance data to make editorial decisions. Benefits: • Competitive salary and remote work environment. • Premium medical, dental, vision, flexible spending and voluntary benefits. • A fixed connectivity reimbursement. • 401(k) match to help you prepare for your future. • Generous paid time off, including flexible time off, bereavement, parental leave, and 13 paid holidays. • Vibrant workplace with a dynamic and engaging culture.
