The Department of Economic Security, Division of Technology Services (DTS), is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as an Applications Developer Senior/Lead. The Applications Developer Senior/Lead is responsible for designing, developing and maintaining complex, scalable solutions by translating business requirements into technical implementations, multiple database management systems, development platforms, and system integrations. This role may mentor junior developers, and leads technical aspects of projects, often collaborating closely with business stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of custom applications. This position may offer the ability to work remotely within Arizona based upon the department's needs and continual meetings of expected performance measures. Job Duties: Essential Responsibilities include but are not limited to: • Write complex Apex classes, triggers and scheduled jobs to automate business process and create custom functionality. Build user-friendly web components for modern interface, including custom interactions and data visualization. Design efficient data structures, including custom objects, fields and relationship to optimize data storage and retrieval. • Identify and resolve issues within applications including debugging and troubleshooting integration problems. Utilizing configuration options like workflows, validation rules, and sharing rules to implement business logic without requiring custom code where possible. • Thoroughly reviewing code written by other developers to ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices and security protocols. • Define the overall technical architecture for applications, considering scalability, performance and security best practices. • Create Test Plan, Test Artifacts, and Selenium. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs): Knowledge of: • Web technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript and REST API's. • Software Development processes including analysis, design, coding, system and user testing, problem resolution and planning. • Business applications, testing multiple platforms, browsers and mobile devices. • Integrating applications with other systems such as AZURE DEVOPS,Agile Development Methodology, MS Development Stack. • Multiple programming languages, multiple database management systems, multiple development platforms and system integration. Skill in: • Proficient in Apex programming language. • Strong problem solving and analytical skills. • Customer centric approach to problem solving, responds to requests and solicits feedback. • Interviewing and training new hires, mentoring, and coaching. • Assessing and recommending equipment, resources, and software. • Leading and developing solutions and processes to meet needs. Ability to: • Work Independently. • Balance, prioritize and organize multiple tasks. • Collaborate and communicate effectively with business stakeholders and other team members. • Synthesize feedback and adjust plans accordingly. • Build strong relationship inside and outside organization. • Develop and write technical documentation. • Demonstrated ability to execute prescribed testing using established procedures and tools. • Interpret and analyze test results. • Use or maintain testing frameworks, test libraries, databases and test environments. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11). • Successfully pass background and reference checks; employment is contingent upon completion of the above-mentioned process and the agency’s ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions • All newly hired State employees are subject to and must successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify) • Employee shall obtain and maintain a valid Level One fingerprint clearance card that meets DES requirements for a Level One card pursuant to Arizona Revised Statute 41-1969. • Bachelor’s degree plus 8 or more years of programming and analysis experience (or equivalent experience).
